HKU assistant professor arrested for indecently assaulting colleague: sources

An assistant professor of the University of Hong Kong was arrested for indecently assaulting a female colleague on multiple occasions in a campus office since January, sources said.

The 28-year-old victim filed a police report on March 15, alleging that a man at the university sexually assaulted her.

Officers arrested the 33-year-old suspect, surnamed Jiang, two days later.

It is unclear whether Jiang has been suspended from duty as he has not returned to the university for at least two weeks.

Jiang is out on bail pending further investigation and must report to the police in late April.
