Real-time flight information update disrupted after computer failure at HKIA

he computer glitches disrupted the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) flight information display system on Sunday.

The faults in the airport’s flight board system since this morning at 7 am have led to a lack of real-time updates on departure and arrival flight information, as well as check-in counter details, causing inconvenience to passengers and airport staff.

The Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) apologized for the inconvenience caused and stated that a system failure resulted in the inability to update information in real-time on the terminal’s display screens, the airport websites, and its mobile app.

Despite the display system fault, AAHK said the overall operations are normal at the airport. It added that the Airport Emergency Centre has been activated and contingency measures have been implemented to handle affected service and procedures.

Passengers are advised to allow sufficient time for check-in and to check with airlines for the latest flight status.
