Hong Kong annual book fair set for July 17 features movie as main theme

This year’s Hong Kong Book Fair is slated to be held from July 17 to 23, focusing on Movie Literature.

The fair will run for seven days at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai, alongside The World of Snacks and the Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo.

More than 760 exhibitors from various countries and regions are expected to participate.

The book fair this year is themed after movie literature and is set to hold over 600 cultural activities that will cover talks with authors of various genres, new book introductions, and promoting reading habits.

The fair will feature scripts from six authors, including the script of “I Have a Date with Autumn” by author Raymond To Kwok Wai, along with inviting various writers to the convention to share their experiences.

The convention will also play the works of six renowed directors, along with showcasing the novels of renowned writers Jin Yong, Ni Kuang, etc.

The book fair will open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day, except for the final day, which ends at 5 p.m.

The tickets will cost HK$30 for adults and HK$10 for children, and if they arrive after 12 p.m., then they will only have to pay HK$10, children under the age of three and the elderly above the age of 65 can enter for free.

The World of Snacks and Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo are also held at the same time and can be accessed with the same ticket.

The Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo will complement the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics and has specifically installed a supporting device for the local Olympians.

While the World of Snacks will feature over 1,200 from all over the world for visitors to choose from.
