Eight temporary application service centers established for JoyYou Card applications

The eligible elderly can head to eight additional locations to receive assistance with setting up their JoyYou Card so that they can continue to enjoy their travel discounts.

The government announced today that it will set up eight temporary application service centers across Hong Kong to assist residents aged 60 or above to apply for the JoyYou Card so that they can continue to enjoy the HK$2 rides.

Starting from August 25 this year, all Hong Kong residents aged 60 or above must use a JoyYou Card to enjoy the HK$2 Scheme. Existing Anonymous Elder Octopus and ordinary Personalised Octopus will no longer be applicable.

As for eligible persons with disabilities aged below 60, they can continue to enjoy the HK$2 Scheme using the Personalised Octopus encoded with “Persons with Disabilities Status” and need not apply for a JoyYou Card.

In order to assist people in submitting their applications or to resubmit application materials as soon as possible, the government has set up eight service centers, which will operate from June 24 until August 31, from 9 am to 8 pm, Monday to Friday, and from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays.

Offices will be closed on Sundays and public holidays.

The locations of the eight temporary application service centers can be found here.
