Gabriel Yeung, terminal cancer fighter who donated HK$800,000 to child cancer fund dies

A 28-year-old Samaritan suffering from terminal stage stomach cancer and donated HK$800,000 to the Children’s Cancer Foundation to support young patients passed away in late March, his family announced on social media.

Gabriel Yeung Ka-piu died peacefully surrounded by family, with his farewell ceremony already concluded, the social media post wrote.

Yeung, a social work graduate from the University of Hong Kong, was diagnosed with terminal stomach and liver cancer in 2022. He underwent chemotherapy and had his whole stomach removed.

He constantly shared his story of battling terminal cancer and receiving chemotherapy since his diagnosis, also saying that people, especially children fighting the disease should always believe in their ability to recover.
