Hong Kong’s smart health sensing system awarded a silver medal at Geneva international exhibition of inventions

Hong Kong Kairuipu Medical Technology Co. Limited (HKKMT) announces the recognition of its smart health sensing system at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, where it was awarded a silver medal.

This achievement was made possible through the successful match with the InnoPortal of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) of HKSAR.

Held from April 17 to 21, the esteemed exhibition showcased over 1000 cutting-edge inventions from around 40 countries and regions. The Hong Kong delegation, representing 40 organizations with nearly 700 representatives, achieved an unprecedented success, winning over 350 prizes.

Established in 2022, HKKMT has been at the forefront of providing innovative elderly healthcare solutions with the aid of artificial intelligence. The smart health sensing system comprises a smart sensor integrated with optical fiber technology and a comprehensive monitoring system.

The optical fiber sensors demonstrate exceptional sensitivity to vibrations. Capturing the subtle movements and fluctuations of heartbeats and respiration, the sensors are capable of detecting sleep apnea and other breathing irregularities. Data on sleep duration, sleep cycles, and movement during sleep are collected by the system as well. Artificial intelligence is then utilized to analyze these signals, providing effective feedback on the user’s overall health and well-being.

The system also includes a bed exit monitoring function to prevent fall accidents, enhancing safety measures and offering a proactive approach to health management.

The non-invasive, heat-resistant, radiation-free, and energy-efficient monitoring system is designed to promptly alert and prevent potential risks for individuals during sleep, ensuring optimal functionality.

The system’s user-centric design eliminates the need for wearable devices, as it seamlessly integrates into daily life without disruption. The straightforward installation and user-friendly interface make it a hustle-free addition for households or individuals requiring medical attention.

Institutions such as nursing homes and hospitals benefit from the system’s multifaceted advantages. Real-time monitoring of health status and bed-exit events from anywhere, via computer or mobile app, reduces the need for frequent checks, minimizes staffing requirements, and eases work pressure. As a result, work efficiency is enhanced and operations streamlined.

Through an AI dashboard, users can access respiration and heartbeat data, sleep reports, maintain customized health files, receive medication reminders, check weather updates, set alarms, and access emergency help, creating a holistic and user-friendly monitoring experience.

The medical sensing technology is currently utilized to monitor and assist individuals suffering from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, sleep disorders and emotional disturbances.

The silver medal awarded to HKKMT’s smart monitoring system further underscores the company’s commitment to delivering pioneering technological solutions in support of smart city development.
